Privacy on this site
This page describes what this website (lahtiag.fi) stores when you use it. It supplements the association’s general privacy policy, which covers membership, surveys, and everything else Lahti Association of Gaming LAG ry does (PDF, updated 5 September 2026).
What this site stores
Browsing the site stores nothing about you. Applying for membership stores what the form asks (see the member register below). If you sign in with Discord, the site receives and stores:
- your Discord id, display name, and a reference to your avatar image
- whether you hold a board role (for admin access)
- the event signups, tournament teams, and bracket results you take part in, and any news posts you author
That is the whole list. Signing in never gives the site your email address, your Discord password, or your messages. Signing in also confirms you are a member of the LahtiAG Discord server; people who are not members cannot sign in.
The member register
Applying for membership on the join page puts you in the association’s member register, which the board keeps on this site. The Associations Act requires an association to record each member’s full name and home municipality; the application also asks for your email, where you study, your student union, optionally your Discord and Telegram names, the games you’re into, whether you want to be an active, and a free message, and which class of member you are (full, external, supporting or honorary, per the association’s rules). Only the board sees the register: it opens to a short list of board members, each signed in with the association’s Google Workspace account; it is used to run the association (member counts, meeting invitations, member pricing at events, planning events around what people play) and for nothing else.
If you were signed in with Discord when you applied, your Discord account is linked to your entry: that lets board members see who at an event is a member, and lets you see and correct your own details and actives status on your membership page. A member from before can ask for that link on the join page; the request (your Discord id and name) stays on the entry until the board confirms or dismisses it. A pending application that the board does not approve is deleted. As a member you stay in the register until you resign or the board removes you; either way, email board@lahtiag.fi to have your entry corrected or erased. Entries from the earlier Google Form were moved into this register when the form was retired.
Cookies
The site sets two cookies of its own, both strictly functional: one that keeps you signed in for 24 hours, and one that protects forms against forgery. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies on this site. Visitor statistics, where collected, are aggregate and cookie-free.
Where it lives and who sees it
The data is stored in the site’s database, hosted by Cloudflare. Signup lists, team rosters, and tournament results are visible to signed-in members on event pages; names and avatars of tournament participants appear on the public bracket and results pages. The history page carries a public leaderboard of members’ Discord names with the number of events attended and tournaments won; every member is on it, and can hide themselves on their membership page at any time. Board members can remove signups and participants.
The association’s Discord bot also counts, per member and day,
how many messages you send and how long you spend in voice channels on
the LahtiAG server, in the channels every member can see, for the
activity rewards of the academic year. Only the counts are kept; the bot
never stores what was said. The Minecraft servers’ own player
statistics are read the same way, so the site knows, per day, how long
each whitelisted name was online. Your own counts show on your
membership page, and the current season’s totals on your profile card,
which any member can post in Discord with /profile; hiding yourself
from the leaderboard on your membership page keeps them off the card.
The board can also note by hand, for the same rewards, that you helped
at an event or did something else on its short list, and you can ask for
such a note yourself in Discord, in which case what you wrote is kept
with the request until the board decides it. You see these notes on
your membership page, and they go with your register entry when it is
erased. The season’s points can be posted as a leaderboard in Discord
with your Discord name on it; hiding yourself from the leaderboard on
your membership page keeps you off that list too.
Coins. Members have a wallet of play money on the site, with no cash value and no way to buy any. We keep each movement (a monthly allowance, coins from battle pass XP, a stake on an event’s bracket and what it paid, the board giving or taking coins) and each bet: the event, whom you backed, how much and the result. Stakes and winnings are visible in the event’s Discord channel and on the event page; balances are yours to see and, unless you have opted out of leaderboards, can appear on a ranking. Coins are removed with the rest of your data when your entry is erased.
Event announcements are also posted to the association’s Discord server; what happens to data inside Discord is governed by Discord’s privacy policy.
How long, and how to be removed
Signups and results are kept as part of the association’s event history. If you want your participation removed, from one event or from everything, contact the board at board@lahtiag.fi and it will be deleted. Your other data protection rights (access, rectification, and the rest) are listed in the general privacy policy. Leaving the LahtiAG Discord server ends your ability to sign in by itself.
